Probably the most common rouse agents get up to is telling landlord’s that they have interested parties when they do not. This is either because they are fearful of losing business to a competitor.

Some agents will even call private landlords that have placed an advert in property newspaper or website and say they have someone interested in the property and could they make an appointment to view it. Often the truth is that they have no one and are simply trying to gain a new instruction.

We do our best to give letting agents a good name. On the other hand, the perception that agents are so bad only goes to making us look better.
